VBS!

This month, Alex attended Vacation Bible School and really enjoyed it! The theme was a beach theme- "Surfin' Through the Scriptures." On the last day, the parents attended a VBS celebration with the kids. I was so glad that Alex's teacher took pictures of the kids throughout the week and sent them to us!
Alex really got into the lessons and learned a lot. My favorite was when he was talking about the lesson for the day which was about the miracle of Jesus feeding the multitude. He said that a little boy brought fish for everybody's lunch and Jesus served it to them. When asked if Jesus made it so there would be enough food, he said, "no, the boy brought the food. Jesus just served it." I guess that a 4 year old's take on what happened!

Happy Anniversary!

This week we celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary! We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Randy's Steakhouse (this picture was taken there). So delicious! We were talking over dinner how richly God has blessed our marriage over these past 8 years and the sweet journey we have been on together. Our marriage has grown from being a couple into a wonderful family with the two most precious boys in the world! We are looking forward to the many more years to come!

Blogging Catch Up: Wildflowers & Memorial Day!

Wildflower Pictures: May 2008
Due to the many hundreds of pictures we have taken over the last 2 months, we are a bit behind in posting them, so I'll try to play a little catch-up here!

One of the wonderful things about Texas in the spring time is all the beautiful wildflowers that bloom. Last month, I took the boys to a field by our house to get some pictures. I love these pictures mainly because they had so much fun exploring the field and finding different blooms and bugs. So much to discover!

Memorial Day 2008
Every year, the cemetery hosts a beautiful Memorial Day event for the community including, patriotic band music, speakers, exhibit, fly over, etc. We love to go and see the flags and teach our boys about what it means to live in this country.

We had a wonderful Father's Day! We went to church and lunch with Nana and Pops and were later joined by Eric and Jennifer for a family cookout. The dads enjoyed it!
