Easter

Tell me the story of Jesus,
Write on my heart every word.
Tell me the story most precious,
Sweetest that ever was heard.

Tell of the cross where they nailed Him,
Writhing in anguish and pain.
Tell of the grave where they laid Him,
Tell how He liveth again.
Love in that story so tender,
Clearer than ever I see.
Stay, let me weep while you whisper,
Love paid the ransom for me.

Tell me the story of Jesus,
Write on my heart every word.
Tell me the story most precious.
Sweetest that ever was heard.

Easter Lunch

Eric and Jennifer had Easter lunch for our families at their house after church Easter Sunday. It was a fabulous lunch and the kids had so much fun playing together and having an Easter egg hunt the backyard!

Dying Easter Eggs

Saturday night before Easter we had Nana, Pops, and Mimi over to dye Easter eggs. We've never dyed eggs before with the kids, so they had a blast. Alex was so excited coloring all his eggs and putting little Easter stickers on them. Sam just loved sitting in Pops' lap and watching the eggs go in and out of the cups. He was fascinated by it all. We hid them after we were done for an egg hunt. Not many of the eggs survived but there were a few that managed to remain uncracked!

Here Comes Peter Cottontail

This week the boys made a trip to see the Easter bunny at the mall. We went with Nana and had a fun day of it. After pictures with the Easter bunny, we had lunch and Alex got to ride the train. We even were able to get in a little shopping. It was lots of fun!

Easter Egg Hunt!

Our Sunday School class had our annual Easter Egg hunt for the kids today. We all brought picnic lunches and eggs filled with goodies to contribute to the hunt. We ate our picnics and let the kids play on the playground. The weather was cool and beautiful, and the boys had so much fun! It was Sam's first Easter egg hunt to participate in. He loved picking up the eggs and putting them in his basket. They both loved going through all the goodies they found afterwards.

The boys loved playing on the playground. Sam LOVED this slide because he could go up the steps and down the slide all by himself. He spent a lot of time playing on it.

Sam was so cute putting them in his basket.

Alex found lots of eggs.
The boys liked looking for the eggs.

Meeting Homer Hickam

Today we went to see author and rocket scientist Homer Hickam who was signing his new book at Barnes and Noble. We had to go! He gave an author talk and then met people and signed his new book Red Helmet. My sweet husband was excited to meet him, since he also went to VT and received a degree in Industrial Engineering. He has an amazing story and in case you are trying to remember who Homer Hickam is, he was the author of Rocket Boys which was turned into a movie about his life called October Sky. (Homer Hickam was played by Jake Gyllenhaal.) He was a fun author to meet because he took a lot of time to have a conversation with each person. It was neat experience. I forgot my camera, so the only photo we got was this grainy one from the cell phone camera. Oh well, it worked!

Snow in March

We woke up this morning to a light dusting of snow! The kids were thrilled to see such a sight. I let them play in it a little this morning before Alex went to school, because I knew it would all be melted by the time school was over. They played in the backyard and then we stopped at a field in the park for some great pics and some fun in the snow. It's mostly melted and gone now, but it was fun while it lasted!

A New Ride

We've had quite a sick spell lately with strep throat hitting our household. It started with Alex, went to Sam, and then I got it! But we are doing lots better, and we ventured out this past weekend to get a new carseat for Alex. His current convertible seat has been passed down to Sam. Both boys love their new seats! Sam loves seeing where's he's going instead of where he's been, now that he is forward facing. Alex loves his new seat because it's bigger, plusher, AND it has a cup holder! Our Alex has definitely arrived.

Check them out in their new seats!Sam loves facing forward now that he's 14 months.

Alex showing off his fancy cup holder. He wants to take a drink every time we go in the car now.
