Backyard Fun

This summer the boys have had so much fun in the backyard. We had a sprinkler ring they liked to run through and we also got this inflatable pool that could connect to the water hose so that the palm tree squirts water. They loved getting wet on these hot summer days!

Whistle Fair

This past weekend we went to the annual Whistle Fair at the Railway Museum in Dallas. The boys LOVED seeing all the trains and getting to climb up into some of the cars. It was a perfect day for it since we got an unusual break in the heat.

This was a calliope made from steam whistles. The man played music on it- needless to say it was VERY loud, but a fascinating instrument.

The Greatest Show on Earth!

This past weekend we had fabulous time at the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus! We went with Nana, Pops, Eric, Jen, Ashley and Jen's family. It was so much fun!

Alex has been looking forward to this for some time. A couple of months ago, Alex was jumping on his bed. I told him not to jump on his bed and his response was, "I'm not jumping- I'm practicing!" So I asked him what he was practicing for? "The Circus!" he replied. "When I grow up, I'm going to be a man and then I can be in the circus!" Well- at least he knows he has to wait until he grows up!

We went to the "all-access pre-show" before it started.

Pinewood Derby

Daddy's office has a pinewood derby every summer and we always go out to watch! Each department builds a car and enters it into a series of races to determine the winner. Daddy's team won first place! I'm sure it was not a big surprise that the winning car came from the engineering team! The boys had fun watching the races and looking at the cars.
