Winter Fun

Here's our winter update...a hodge podge of pictures of some of our activities.

Outing to The Science Place
We had a family outing to The Science Place (I know it's called something different now, but I still call it The Science Place) with some friends. The kids had so much fun!

Here are some of our kiddos waiting for balloon creations.

Alex in the Dino dig area.
Sam playing too.

Building a Tent!!
We've had some cold and wet days this month, so we've had to stay in a little more. Building a tent is just the ticket for two little boys to have some fun on a cold, wet afternoon. They were entertained by this for the longest!

School Stuff
At Alex's school, the theme they are learning about this month is "winter." They have done lots of neat artwork, but the polar bear and the penguins were two of my favorites. Alex also liked the "snow monster" he drew one day. They do so many fun things.

Alex at a friend's birthday party...it was funny to see girls AND boys donning their princess crowns.

Father's Night

Tonight was Father's Night at Alex's school. It's a special event set aside just for the kids and their dads to come and have a fun evening at school. They had crafts and activity centers set up. Daddy and Alex had lots of fun, and I heard that Alex's favorite spot was the construction center. I sent the camera with them and got a couple of shots of Alex building with the blocks.

Alex's favorite station was the construction station.

Alex's Birthday Party!!!!!!

Today was Alex's big 4th birthday party! We had it at Slappy's Puppet Playhouse at the Galleria. The kids enjoyed a marionette puppet show (Beauty and the Beast) followed by lunch and cupcakes in a party room. It was wonderful! We had a great turn out and all the kids really enjoyed the production! I loved the party room because one wall of it was windows to see out into the Galleria. I have loved all of Alex's birthday parties, but I must say that this one was definitely my favorite!

Waiting for the show to begin.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALEX!!!!!

Today Alex is 4 years old! We're definitely looking forward to his big party this Saturday, so check back for party pics!

I can't believe how quickly the time goes by! He's no longer a baby that I can rock to sleep or push around in a stroller. Alex has grown into such a precious little boy. He has become so inquisitive and thoughtful, really trying to take in the world around him. Recently when we were listening to Praise Baby and the worship song came on with the chorus "we cry holy, holy, holy; we cry holy holy holy is the Lamb..." Alex asked me why they were crying "holy". Why would they be sad? Holy means Jesus, Mommy! So I got to explain that this crying doesn't mean sad...it means singing out, happy, excited! So now this is Alex's favorite song. He sings around the house all the time, but especially this song, and of course gets excited every time we hear it on the radio.

What a blessing these past four years have been having Alex to bring us joy, laughter, and singing every day. Happy birthday to our sweet, sweet boy!
